Woman Goes to ER With Back Pain and Makes a Shocking Discovery!

Melinda Nichols, 40, of Ohio, went to the hospital complaining of back pain. She received a routine x ray and was shocked to see something strange on the film:

Do you see it? The IUD, a contraceptive device, that she had inserted back in 2007 was still inside of her despite the fact that doctors had told her it had fallen out. It somehow migrated out of her uterus and punctured its way through her abdomen! No wonder she was having back pain!

She had initially told her doctor years ago she thought she would have noticed if it had fallen out since it’s a small, metal, t-shaped bar, but her doctor dismissed her concerns. Now it is “floating” in her abdomen.

An IUD migrating within the body is extremely rare, but this proves it CAN happen.

No word on if she has had since had it removed.
