Kids are susceptible to internet challenges. All you have to do to corroborate that statement is look on YouTube at the Tide Pod challenge, the cinnamon challenge and of course, the Bird Box challenge. Well, now police are urging parent to discuss the danger inherent in the 48 Hours Missing challenge with their kids.

The 48 Hours Missing challenge is exactly that: a child or teen goes “missing” for 48 hours seemingly without a trace. Kids do this in hopes that their pictures show up in social media and newscasts. Not only is this obviously dangerous for kids, it also ties up emergency services that go looking for the missing kids that could be used for real emergencies.

Experts are urging parents to talk about this with kids and to not assume that they know the danger of following this latest internet trend.
