NEW Details on the Live-Action “Monopoly” Movie

Kevin Hart is set to produce and star in a live-action movie based off the popular board game Monopoly. Deadline reports the director of the film is Tim Story, who also helmed Ride Along and several other Hart projects.

“Still grinding with the attitude of an individual that hasn’t accomplished anything yet,” the actor posted on Instagram, along with news of the film. “Let’s gooooooooo.” There’s no shooting date or writer yet for the Monopoly film, although Deadline notes that at one point, a vision of the film “centered on a young man from the game’s modest Baltic Avenue on a quest to make a fortune.” Hart has been doubling down on booking work since he stepped away from hosting this year’s Oscars over past homophobic remarks.
