Lindsey Vonn is struggling to finish her career and start her retirement on her own terms. As The New York Times reports, after considering an immediate retirement from the skiing on Sunday due to injury, Vonn said on Wednesday that she hoped to continue racing. The four-time Olympian was not able to finish a race in Italy on Sunday because both of her knees were injured and she tearfully announced her career might be over. But on Wednesday, she posted an update on Instagram. “I’m taking things day by day, and we will see what happens,” she wrote. “I know that I might not get the ending to my career that I had hoped for, but if there is a chance, I will take it.” She hopes to race this weekend in Germany.
