Local Man Used Knife To Force Teen To Use Cocaine
According to the criminal complaint, Justin Blane Mortensen, 25, was driving a 15-year-old around on back roads on January 1 when he offered the minor the cocaine. According to court documents, the child told investigators that when they refused, Mortensen took a knife with a four or five-inch blade and asked: “Are you sure you don’t want any?”
Court documents say that Mortensen, who lives in Pemberton, then proceeded to poke the minor on the leg with the knife and stare at her while holding the knife. The minor told police she was scared, so she took the cocaine, according to the complaint.
The teen said that Mortensen has also provided her with methamphetamine and told investigators where they could find the meth hidden in her parent’s residence, according to court documents. The complaint says a deputy found the meth in the exact location the teen had provided.
The victim’s family told police Mortensen repeatedly drives by their home and throws garbage on their yard, according to the complaint. The family told police they are concerned for their safety and it has appeared that Mortensen has been under the influence of something during past contact with him. Mortensen was arrested after a parent called police at 7:10 p.m. on January 1st to report that their child had told them he’d ingested cocaine. The teen was taken to a hospital after deputies arrived.
Mortensen is charged with 2nd-degree felony drug sale, 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony, and felony counts of 3rd-degree drug sales and causing or permitting a child to ingest, inhale, or be exposed to meth. He is currently booked in the Blue Earth County Jail.
