Scotty Abram and his wife Cassy just got home from Cedar Rapids hospital in Iowa when their baby, Scotty Jr., decided he was ready to arrive in the world.  Scotty called first responders and began to deliver his son.

When the EMT’s arrived, they let Scotty cut the umbilical cord. Firefighters were also on hand. Then, it was time for everyone to make their way back to the hospital. What came next made everyone smile. Two other firefighters showed up to the scene in their own vehicles, with shovels in tow, to clear out the rest of the snow from the long drive.

“I was in such awe of their selflessness! It’s amazing what some will do for others without knowing anything about them. It was not their job to come and shovel,” Cassy’s aunt said.
