(Mankato, MN) – A Mankato teen who entered school with nunchucks likely left campus experiencing a major buzzkill after drugs were allegedly discovered among his personal items.

According to the criminal complaint, 19-year-old Hunter Gordon Nystrom was reported to police by the school principal for having nunchucks on school property.  Court documents say that Nystrom was not using the nunchucks in a threatening manner, but was showing them to students and faculty.

Police searched a bag where Nystrom was storing the nunchucks and noticed an electronic vaping device that smelled of weed.  Nystrom admitted to police that he was high, according to the complaint.  The vape cartridge later tested positive for THC.

Charges were not requested for the nunchucks, according to the complaint.

Nystrom has been charged with 5th-degree drug possession, a gross misdemeanor.
