Forecasters are predicting bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills as January enters its final week.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory, effective until Friday morning at 9:00.  Temperatures are forecasted to fall below zero overnight tonight, Friday night, and Saturday night.  Sunday brings the region a chance of snow, while gusty winds and highs in the single digits will mark a blustery beginning to the work week on Monday

Tuesday night is expected to be the coldest part of the stretch of frigid weather, with temperatures dipping down to 22 degrees below zero.  There won’t be much relief the following day either, as Wednesday’s high is expected to top out at -7.

NWS cautions that exposed skin can suffer frostbite within ten minutes when windchills get dangerously low possible to -40!
