(Mankato, MN) – A North Minneapolis father is facing criminal charges, accused of stealing a video game system from the Mankato hospital that treated his son.

Twenty-two-year-old Wainell Ronald Hall has been charged in Blue Earth County Court with gross misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor damage to property.

According to the criminal complaint, Hall’s 5-month-old child was admitted to the pediatric floor at Mayo Clinic Health Systems on February 4th.  Hall asked to use the hospital’s gaming system, a PS4 with two controllers, and three video games.  The system was in a locked plexiglass case affixed to a wheeled cart.

The following day when Hall’s son was discharged from the hospital, staff noticed the PS4, controllers and some of the games had been stolen, according to the complaint.

Hall admitted to police he’d stolen the items and turned them over to law enforcement, according to the complaint.  The items were valued at $530.00
